Military archaeology goes digital: an interactive adventure that blurs the line between reality and virtual experience.
For the launch of the second season of Metal Detective, DMAX Italy chose to innovate the concept of a treasure hunt through a metaverse experience. We created a custom virtual world where viewers can experience firsthand the thrill of searching for war relics, turning the protagonist’s passion into an interactive adventure. A project that blends entertainment and technology, allowing the audience to explore history in a completely new way.
We recreated the show’s locations on Gather.Town, with five different levels, 3D-modeled environments, and an interactive treasure hunt full of hidden objects and extra content to discover. A complex gamification project, developed over more than 130 hours, that turned fans into true Metal Detectives of the metaverse.
Over 2,200 users took part in the challenge, but only the most attentive managed to collect all the clues and gain access to an exclusive meet & greet with the legendary Gibba.
A project that, in addition to winning the NC Digital Awards in the ‘Other Digital Solutions’ category, took engagement to a whole new level, proving that history is not just watched on TV… it’s experienced firsthand.
